The article identified the need to develop a common methodological approach to assessing the competitiveness of regions, summarizing domestic and foreign experience and form their own methods of analysis. To date, a number of economic thought methodological approaches for assessing regional competitiveness based on the use of complex integrated approach to the assessment of the competitiveness of the region. The article is summarized the scientific approaches to evaluating the competitiveness of the region and concluded that these methods use a group of indicators which are detailed in the system of diverse indicators. The article is noted that the main aspect to assess the competitiveness of the region is an adequate choice of parameters for the calculation of the integral indicator.
