У статті проаналізовано наукові підходи до визначення поняття «мотивація» з позицій різних суспільних та економічних наук. Запропоновано розглядати зазначену категорію за структурним та процесним підходом. Scientific approaches to the definition of the term "motivation" with the theoretical positions of different social sciences are analyzed in the article. The basic criteria of work motivation from an economic point of view are defined. Classification of existing definitions in two directions is proposed. The first direction defines motivation as a set of factors or motives. The second direction defines motivation as a process. The definition that combines the two directions, presents.
